Hi Terea, congratulations with the remission. I believe that neither WFPB or Vegan Keto can be nutritionally effective in the long run, because of many deficiencies, that are especially significant for people over 40-45 yo. I believe that for the most people the proper healing job will happen only through the animal organic sourced proteins, collagens, fats and the most bio-available micronutrients. Exercise has to be moderate, this is crucial. Feeling a little off can be a consequence of nutritional deficiency, some kind of carb-intolerance, prevalence of anti-nutrients, insoluble fiber that cause gut inflammation etc. It’s hard to say without knowing your history. I am trying to keep it that way. Do I continue eating WFPB or go Vegan Keto? I do intermittent fasting about 4 days a week. I currently seek treatment at CTCA and take Ibrance and Letrozole so white blood counts are an issue. I exercise daily, but I have been feeling a little off lately… Any thoughts?

Dear Jill, eating kibble is not natural for a dog – infused or not. Dog is a carnivore.
Infused kibble is just an attempt to sell a product that could be better, but still not optimal.

What I basically can help with is to find a balanced diet for your dog that mimics what I do for mig clients.
I started working with dogs only recently – for 3 years ago, but my methods have now saved life of three dogs with cancer and prevented operation by stopping systemic inflammation in a couple of others.

The modern theory of cancer proves that cancer is a metabolic disease and not a purely genetic condition as the medical science have treated it for decades and still does. This is true for both humans and canines.

For dog’s cancer I use the same diet as I use for helping my human clients with cancer.
We call it Human Grade ZC TKD CF/IR – Zero carb Therapeutic Ketogenic diet with Intermittent Fasting and Caloric Restriction.
Humans have evolved as carnivores, but have acquired an omnivore flexibility.
Dogs are basically strict carnivores, but has become omnivores because of living together with humans.
All the studies over populations of wild dogs show that they always come back to being strict carnivores – at least as much as it is possible in the given situation.

Just a few facts from canine physiology that proves them being carnivores:
– Dogs have hinged, powerful jaws along with teeth for ripping and tearing of flesh and crushing of bone. They also have a large stomach, short digestive tract, primed for consuming large amounts of high protein food in a short time and for fast digestion and rapid absorption of nutrients.
– They do not have the typical molars for the grinding of plant material or a four chamber stomach for the slow digestion and fermentation of complex carbohydrates (starches from plants and grains).

That’s why I would assign a Zero-Carb diet with specific balance of protein and fat as well some daily intake of certain organ meats.
I would also assign precise amount of calories and weight in grams of the her daily meal components, so it will be easy for you to follow.
The studies show that the mechanisms of autophagy / cellular cleansing detoxification are the same as in humans.
We make these mechanisms work by ensuring daily caloric restriction to 60-75% of measured daily energy expenditure depending on the race, weight, estimated amount of movement, type of condition and the grade of severity. Just as we do with humans.

If you are interested I can tailor a diet plan for your dog – with exactly daily planning of meals.
I will also give you recommendations how to make Buteyko work for your dog, as dogs are conditioned to tolerate almost twice as much CO2 as humans.
and they thrive on it – just like humans. So we will actually work according to my human grade protocol – though with mental training omitted 🙂

I have him on high protein raw infused, no grain and am supplementing home cooked. He’s had seizures so he’s on Keppra and another prescription to help with the liver levels. Would this diet be good for him? Thank you.

Dear Debbie,

I would be happy to help your daughter in her battle.
We start by booking 1:1 session (incl. 1 week support) here: https://sakharoff.com/clients/

After that we have 2 possibilities:
– monthly online work together as I do with the most of my clients or
– 1 week intensive training with me at my place: https://sakharoff.com/book-1-week-training-misha-sakharoff/

Talk to your daughter, I will be happy to help her.
Look forward to meet her on Skype soon.

She does not believe in chemo or radiation and has not had surgery. She is doing alit of alternative things but I really feel that she needs more guidance to make sure she is doing it right to starve the cancer cells. I will pay for her to have a consultation with you. She is 37 almost 38 and she is a single mom with 2 young boys. We can’t lose her. Thank you for your help.

Dear Tammy, I’m sorry to hear about your dad’s condition. You need to test on a particular gene to see if these particular prostate cancer cells can use fat for fuel. I was in Denver at Low-Carb conference earlier this year and I heard a presentation of very knowledgeable scientist Dr. Dawn Lemanne. The idea is that if your dad’s prostate cancer have BRAF V600E mutation then fat fuels tumor growth and ketogenic regimen is counterproductive. Only 10% of prostate cancers have it. Test it!

Watch this video and pay attention at about 30 min mark and later.

Her presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RvByLXyoYk&ab_channel=LowCarbDownUnder

It comes from this study: Prevention of Dietary-Fat-Fueled Ketogenesis Attenuates BRAF V600E Tumor Growth, Cell Metabolism (2016),
http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.cmet.2016.12.010

Slides from her presentation: http://denversdietdoctor.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Dawn-Lemanne-Carbohydrate-Restriction-in-Cancer-Therapy.pdf

But your father would have a greater effect if combined strict dietary regimen with optimisation of cellular oxygenation with Buteyko technique and Frolov or DIY breathing device.

I have been following ketogenic for about 1.5 years and am very familiar with the diet. Is there a benefit with ketogenic with all cancers such as my dad’s prostate cancer or is it just certain cancers?
