Dear Edo, both places it is described very beautifully. “By commanding my stomach muscle area to relax at all times, especially while out and about around other people, I found that not only did posture correct itself automatically, but my emotions also relaxed entirely” – this phrase describes what is called normalisation of antagonist tension, which if not handled upon will bring your breathing out of order. By relaxing your belly you affect other muscles connecting the abdominal area with the spine area that will eventually lead to straightening up the posture. We talk about ilio-psoas complex with iliacus and psoas major and minor. In other words you stop overcompensating ilio-psoas muscle tension related to the chronic stress response – by the other interdependent muscles around your belly.

“Looking from your belly” is also a beautiful description of it. I start my day through “1-point kickstart” by 20-min diminished breathing lying in the bed after waking up. Then I “take this 1-point with me” when I get up 🙂 Try this! Look at the word and counteract with it, sensing your belly at the same time. Cheers Misha

I still struggling a bit how to integrate this one single point of attention into daily awareness. Is it just keep your attention on your belly as much as possible and as much as possible relax your belly? Is it like described here? “By commanding my stomach muscle area to relax at all times, especially while out and about around other people, I found that not only did posture correct itself automatically, but my emotions also relaxed entirely”

Or is it like Nirmala writes here in chapter 3 ‘looking from the belly?’

Any practical tips would be welcome
