Yeah, we don’t need that 🙂

Exactly, there is always room for improvement – but we need remember that the ‘small steps rule’ is still valid when further on the road to mastery <3

thanks, right now I find it difficult to reach an exhale of 20 seconds with 40 ml water so there is room for improvement I guess:-)

Don’t control your breathing during weight lifting. It’s better to use the mask here, if you absolutely want to do it. I wouldn’t. When you doing cardio you shouldn’t control it either. You should do PAR – progressive active relaxation instead.

Dear Ed, it’s easy to add extra water in DIY device, but if you put 60cl in the original Frolov you will have a fountain! You could call it “fountain of youth” or whatever… – but it will make impossible to train. DIY device can easily allow this…

You don’t need the pause after the exhale. You need to create steady pressure just to break the threshold of pressure to make the gurgling-bubbling action occur. You have to extend the exhalation time deliberately, through relaxation. That’s how you come to the next level. It’s possible to come tp the level of inhaling on 2 sec and then exhaling on 90 sec… Yes, there’s no typo here…

Another question: when doing cardio I try to create air hunger and breath as less as possible. Do you advise the same for strength training, for instance during weight lifting?

I use a maximum of 40 cl in my Frolov device because that is what the instructions say and Artour Rakhimov says the same. but it is not really a challenge anymore. Any problem to put more water in it? 50 cm or 60 cm or so to create more resistance?

I saw an instruction video in which there was almost no pause after the exhale, only 1 or 2 seconds, the way I do it is that I pause after the exhale and that I wait as lang as feels comfortable before I inhale. Just like in the regular Buteyko exercises. Isn’t that right?
